She retrained as an economist (MSc with distinction from the London School of Economics) after raising a family of four children and worked for some years in HM Treasury and the (then) Department of Energy before becoming a consultant and director, first of National Economic Research Associates and subsequently of Europe Economics. She published three papers in peer-reviewed journals and wrote a book titled "Inflation" (see economics page).
On retiring from economics she enroled to study philosophy of mind at University College London. She has since published another paper in a peer-reviewed journal, and was awarded a PhD in July 2017. She has now published the book "MIND: a property of matter", describing her findings (see philosophy page).
